There are also manyother patterns of more or less originality, whichhave been devised by various surgeons. With regard to the more remote after-treatment ofcases of club-foot after tenotomy in those cases inwhich rectification has been effected in earlyinfancy, it is not generally necessary to adopt anyespecial form of boot or support, but in cases ofseverity, or those in which treatment has beendelayed for a few years, it will generally be wise tomake some provision against the occurrence of arelapse, by the use of steel uprights, or of someother suitable mechanical apparatus. Theseshould, in all cases, be as light as is consistentwith strength. Parker* recommends that in severe cases nightshoes, made on the same principle as the dayones, should be worn in bed. It is, I think, betterto attach the feet to light flexible splints if it isdeemed
