BUSINESS NORMAL. After a very dry June there has been an excess of rain the past two weeks accompanied by higli winds which combined forces have beaten down the asters and other outside stock, doing considerable damage. Business is normal for the season, those who are not on vacations being kept in a measure busy with the rou- tine and taking care of orders as they come. The stock of flowers is good for the season. There are still some fair American Beauty roses wliich may hold out until the new crop comes in next month. All the summer roses appear better than usual and there are plenty of Easter lilies as good as seen at any time of year. Valley is in abundance. Asters are coming in though damaged by the heavy rains. Gladioli are on hand in good variety, and a few carnations are to be seen. NOTES. The coming convention of the S. A. F. is now an active subject of discus- sion. There will be a large delegation from this city of at least fifty and perhaps more. Those who will have charge of the exhibits from this city will number 25 or more. The plant men will be largely represented, Henry A. Dreer, Robert Craig Co., Joseph Heacock, Charles D. Ball and the Lem- uel Ball Estate, have all taken quite large spaces. H. F. Michell Co. will also have an exhibit. The supply men will also be out in force. H. Bayers- dorfer ^ M. Rice and J. G. Neidinger, will make exhibits that will be an importa
