Vintage portrait print of American statesman and judge John Rutledge (1739 - 1800) - the second US Chief Justice (July - December 1795). Rutledge also helped draft the US Constitution in his role as Chairman of the Committee of Detail at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787 and was Governor of South Carolina from 1776 to 1778 and 1779 to 1782.
