Satellite image of Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) in Florida, USA. CCSFS is owned by the Department of Defense and operated by the Space Force unit Space Launch Delta 45. The station is the primary launch site for the Space Force's Eastern Range with four active launchpads. Close to the launch complex is a 3000 metre runway used by military aircrafts. Many pioneering space exploration missions were launched from CCSFS including the first US Earth satellite (1958), the first three-man US spacecraft (1968) and the first spacecraft to orbit Mercury (2011).
