BLACKBERRIES. Blackberries are among the best known and most valued of all bei-ries. There are a few people, that are so unfortunate as not to like them. No fruit of any kind is more wholesome. They are particularly valuable for children, and are used, of course, in medical practice. A liberal use of berries and other good fruit will save on the doctor's bills, and they are also economical on other grounds. Blackberries should be planted in rows six to seven feet apart, three to four feet in the rows. Keep the ground light, rich and clean. Pinch the canes back when they have reached four feet in height.
