Yes, the new French hydrangeas can be planted out in the field when danger from frost has passed, and they should be treated in just the same way as the old H. Otaksa. Their greenhouse treat- ment does not differ in any essentials from that of H. Otaksa. These new hydrangeas do not have quite so much substance in their foliage as H. Otaksa. They are, however, far more florifer- ous, the smallest shoots flowering. They require a good soil, firm potting, an abundance of water and liberal feeding when once the flower heads are formed. These are the essentials to successful culture. C. W. BEPLANTINa SPBENQEBI. I have a lot of Asparagus .Sprengeri which has been in the bench for one year. Would it do well if replanted? If so, should it be dried off a littlet J. 0. C. Asparagus Sprengeri may be re- Elanted after having been grown in a ench for one year, and in case this method is adopted it would be best to dry it off to some extent before mov- ing it to the new soil. However, most growers prefer to plant young stock rather than to replant the old plants; the young plants start away more freely and give a better crop of me- dium-sized sprays. W. H. T. AMERICAN ROSE SOCIETY. At the last meeting of the executive committee of the American Bose So- ciety there was referred to the com- mittee on new roses application for registration for the following, and which have been now submitted for the purpose of publicity. If there are no objections to the names as received they will be formally entered upon the list of registered roses: Geerge Burton, Wyndmoor, Pa., presents for registration Rose Tbora, a sport of My Maryland; a fragrant, double, free-flowering, fairly deep salmon pink, and a strong grower.
