An Italian splendid rifle, end of the 17th century, Heavy, smooth octagonal barrel merging to round after cut baluster with cannon-shaped muzzle in calibre mm, the upper surface with a carved coat of arms. Engraved tang with replaced(?) screw. Richly cut flint lock with lavish tendril decor. The lock plate with miniscule blemishes, the hammer spring with hairline crack, the main spring replaced(?), the trigger mechanism incomplete and supplemented in places.
