Jim Stokes' 1955 B Type Connaught 2½ litre in the paddock at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, 12th July 2002. Tony Brooks won the 1955 Syracuse Grand Prix in a similar car, whilst still studying as a dental student, and became the first Englishman to win a Grand Prix in a British car since the 1920's.

In 1958, Connaught was purchased by Bernie Ecclestone, who was to become effectively the 'owner' of Formula 1.
