A French flintlock sword pistol, Gautier, circa 1720. Round barrel with multiple grooves in 11 mm calibre with cannon muzzle. Lightly engraved (somewhat rubbed) flintlock with signature "GAUTIER". Carved walnut stock with silver furniture in relief, the back of the butt with silver wire inlays and an escutcheon showing an antique bust. A long thrusting blade of diamond section, with iron counter plate and silver-inlaid ornamental decorations on the side plate. The ricasso stamped "+HMTHG" on the ricasso.
