Galaxy cluster Abell S0740, Hubble Space Telescope image. This cluster of galaxies is dominated by the giant elliptical galaxy ESO 324-G004 (upper centre), which spans over 100 thousand light years and contains about 100 billion stars. Abell S7040 lies some 450 million light years from Earth, in the constellation Centaurus.
