Gordon Huggins is comforted by friend Jeff Rusicki, both former Coast Guardsmen that served on the Columbia River Bar, while Lt. Cmdr. Thomas Condit, commanding officer Coast Guard Station Cape Disappointment, pays tribute to Coast Guardsmen that have been lost in the Pacific Northwest during the annual Triumph Memorial Service held at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Ilwaco, Wash., Jan. 13, 2018. Huggins was the only surviving crewmember aboard the 52-foot Motor Lifeboat Triumph which was lost during an attempted rescue mission, Jan. 12, 1961.
