The council had previously given business owners assurances that they would be allowed to stay until August '09 but on Monday they were all delivered letters telling them they had to leave the sports ground and give the council the keys to their premises by 9am on Wednesday or legal proceedings to have them evicted would begin. Louis Eden a lawyer from the council arrived just before 9 to ask if any of the businesses had left the premises or planned to, they all told him they intended to stay, he then told them that the council would go to court to get an eviction order. The eviction is likely to happen on Friday morning.
