Hospitalman Barry Weimer instructs Hospitalman Austin Koob on the proper placement techniques of a tourniquet during a deployment for training exercise at Fort Pickett, Va., Dec. 7, 2016. The Navy Corpsmen support Marines by conducting medical training such as the Combat Life Savers Course while also providing medical aid to Marines when needed. The tourniquet will stop the blood flow to a wounded appendage to prevent severe blood loss. Thomas and Koob are hospitalmen assigned to 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division.
