In a Himba village in northern Namibia Himba women form a circle to sell goods. A baby plays behind it's mother's back.
The Himba retain their distintive dress, especially the females of the tribe. Women prepare a mixture of red ochre, butter fat and herbs and apply it to their hair and body, mainly to act as a sunscreen. The mother was part of a circle of Himba women selling goods, her baby was happily playing behind her. The picture was taken in a small Himba settlement close to Opuwo.
