Work continues on a South African commercial farm owned and run by a black woman. The country is in the midst of resolving its land reform challenges

Thorsten Shibambu, a student from Maluleke village on the border with Kruger, has just been awarded the world's most prestigious scholarship: the Rhodes Scholarship to study at Oxford University in the UK. Previous Rhodes Scholars have gone on to be world leaders. Thorsten was raised by his grandmother and went to a no-fee school with very poor facilities. Despite the fact that his school had no science lab, he got 100% for Physics in matric. Growing up, while his peers were idolizing musicians and soccer stars, his heroes were scientists like Isaac Newton. He hopes to use his experience to help solve SA's energy crisis in future.
