The principal (or most obvious) fangs are quite similar to those of La Venta Monu- ment 6. There is even a hint, on one photograph of the battered Stela C, that their tips may have been notched, although this is uncertain. The small but very clear forked tongue is certainly significant. Fur- ther points of difference include the extreme angularity of the Tres.
