The BananaCountry has been left far behind and with It most of thenegroes, for few were seen beyond Turrlalba. From nowon there are more and more extensive views of the country,with hill and dale, mountain and valley and often magnifi-cent distances. Turrlalba was looked forward to eagerly as the pineapplestation, just as Irapuato on the Mexican Central was knownas the strawberry station. The negroes, chiefly women,brought to the passenger coaches both whole pineapples andalso slices thereof. T
