The bouquet was designed and made by L. D. Blackistone. S. E. Pittsburg. BUSINESS VERY GOOD. Business has been exceptionally good all week, otders taking most all the stock as soon as it came in. After Tuesday the wholesalers would only guarantee stock when ordered the day before. St. Valentine's day was the best in the history of the city. No violets could be obtained anywhere after lo o'clock; the same can be said of roses and carnations after 12 o'clock. Prom- inent dealers paid street men as high as $3 per 100 for violets that had a thick surrounding of galax leaves to hold the flowers up. Mrs. Williams had a very pretty val- entine window display, which attracted a great amount of attention. The un- usually dark and cold weather short- ened up the supply very materially the latter part of the week. Bulbs continue to arrive in excellent shape. Single daffodils were hard to obtain all week. Fine Murrillo tulips are now coming in, also Dutch hya- cinths. Freesia is still hard to move at any price; green stock is unusually scarce. American Beauties are com- manding prices almost as good as at Christmas. NOTES. Chas. T. Siebert had a lot of valu- able plants frozen on their way from the east Tuesday.
