Chua Thien Mu - Hue, Vietnam
Smaler building inside the temple complex. The Thien Mu Pagoda (Chua Thien Mu = pagoda of the fairy mother) is located a few kilomteres / miles outside the city of Hue close to the Houng Giang (Perfume River). The Pagoda was build by the direction of the Nguyen prince Nguyen Hoang in the year 1601. Over the years the temple complex was expanded many times by the Nguyen rulers of central Vietnam and later by the kings of the Nguyen dynasty. The pagoda tower (Thap Phuoc Duyen = tower of well / spring of fortune) has seven storeys and is the tallest in Vietnam. It was erected in 1844. The different buildings of the temple / the pagoda are located in a nice garden. Chua Thien Mu is recognised as one of the most sacred places in Vietnam and is together with the Royal City and the Emperors Tombs one of the major sights of Hue.
