A little south of Leitrim the road descends. a) The scarp, its outline softened by a covering of later unconsolidated debris, has crossed the road and continues to the southeast. In front is a hill with a valley between you and it. Beneath Leitrim and the road south of it to the slope lie the sediments of the fifth invasion, though the beds are somewhat higher than those at the Barnhart quarry. The hill across the valley is composed of the upper beds of the rocks of the first invasion. A creek runs through the valley and also reveals rocks of the first invasion.
