Extraction may be performed either by making a section of theupper or lower portion of the cornea. The patient being placid asin the previous operation, the surgeon takes the cataract-knife in. the same manner as he did the needle, and directs the patient toroll the orbit towards the inner canthus, enters the knife at the ex-ternal side, about a quarter or half a line anterior to the junction
