With a largeamount of building going on in the vi-cinity of Vancouver and New West-minster, hardwaremen had an extensive line of credit, and they have suffered ininstances where some of the smaller con-tractors have not met their importance of curtailing credit wasrecognized, but it was felt that this wasa difficult matter in which to lay downa hard and fast rule. One of the visitors was Mr. Hendricks,a manufacturers agent from Seattle,who addressed the members. He toldof what he had observed at differentconventions and pointed out the greatbenefit of association work. His re-marks were greatly appreciated andwere H. C. MARTIN,Elected President B. C. Association. In the absence of an address from thepresident, Mr. Martin spoke for a fewminutes. He is one of the active mem-bers of the association and his remarkswere based on experience, making themall the more acceptable. The constitution was altered to makenecessary provision for two vice-presi-dents, consequent on the growth of thedistrict and the association. It was al-so decided to rate the dues according tothe business done by the member. H. T. Kirk Honored. Another resolution was to make , who retires from the presidency,ex-officio member of all committees. The officers elected Avere: President—II. C. Martin. Vice-presidents—J. B.
