Neurofibromatosis. Neurofibroma growths on the skin of a 44-year-old woman with neurofibromatosis. This is an inherited syndrome manifested by developmental changes in the nervous system, bones, and skin. Benign (non-cancerous) skin tumours called neurofibromas arise from the fibrous covering of nerves. Scarring is also seen here from the previous removal of neurofibromas.
