Every year at the beginning and end of the winter season, Mahfil (Muslim gathering for Islamic Education) are organized in the Charmonai Madrasa area of Barisal. Thousands of Muslims participate in this gathering. At the end of the three-day gathering, the devotees set sail for their respective destinations by the local Launch (passenger ferry).
