Blue Posion Dart frogs (Dendrobates azureus)


Blue Posion Dart frogs (Dendrobates azureus) are naturally found in forests thoughout southern Suriname and northern through central Brazil. The Tirio Indians called this amphibean okopip. Though most blue posion dart frogs are not very venoumus, captive ones like this frog photographed on Nov. 3, 2012, in Santa Barbara Calif., loose toxisity due to a changed diet.
