Over the Christmas break this year I was fortunate to have access to our demonstrator XEF250 Trail. The first thing you notice when jumping on board is how tall it is. If you're used to off road bikes it's not daunting but don't worry if you're new to the game, because a lower shock is available as an upgrade. The other thing you notice is how light the bike is, weighing in at 122kg it feels much more managable than many other bikes that are popular for green laning. Once off the tarmac the XEF250 Trail comes into it's own. It is equipped with proper Michelin off road tyres that grip well in the combination of Fantic USD front forks, piggy back rear monoshock, aluminium swinging arm and CrMo steel perimeter frame adds up to a predictable and easy ride. Making it ideal for those tricky lanes and rocky paths. The Fantic XEF 250 Trail Enduro is powered by a punchy 250cc 4-stroke liquid-cooled engine, with electronic fuel injection and a stainless steel exhaust and silencer by Arrow. The engine is ideally suited to this bike as it has enough easily controlled power coupled with long service intervals to get you riding more and servicing less.
