Amphitrite worm (Amphitrite cirrata). Amphitrites are polychaete (marine annelid) worms. They are surface deposit feeders, catching falling particles with numerous tentacles that they spread out on the sea floor. These tentacles are often the only visible part of the animal with the remainder of its body being buried in the ground.
