A special feature of this material is that bulbs can be grown in it in jardinieres, fern dishes and other nou porous receptacles without drainage. In such cases it is necessary to put a few pieces of charcoal in the bottom of each receptacle to take up any impurities, and after watering, the jardinieres or dishes should be turned on their side to allow any surplus water to drain of.
