Hynish is a small village on the south west of Tiree. Hynish is the place that Alan Stevenson chose as the shore station for the building of Skerryvore lighthouse. Later it was used as the shore station for the lighthouse keepers and their families. Alan Stevenson was the uncle of Robert Louis Stevenson. The buildings have been restored by the Hebridean Trust.
