Uppsala Castle was central to many important events of European history during the 17th century. Built under direction of: King Gustav Vasa. Originally constructed: 1550s. Rebuilt: 1757, after which its function was more that of a palace. Later, it was the administrative centre of Uppland and the site of the Hall of State (Rikssalen)
