A large pewter jug, Nuremberg, circa 1800 Pewter with dark age patina. Large jug in the form of "Stitzen". Three feet shaped as three-dimensional lions. On the front side figurative spigot made from brass, at the socket a large lion's head mascaron. Hinged lid adorned with a three-dimensional lion, holding a shield with the coat of arms of the weavers' guild. Handle with master's mark of Johann Christoph Normann, master in Nuremberg from 1786 - 1824. The mark repeated three times on each shield of the lions' feet.
