BOILER ROOM Steam is generated in ten 750-hp water-tube boilers, ar-ranged in two lines facing each other, with a wide aisle be-tween. Eight of the boilers were furnished by Aultman &Taylor and two by Babcock & Wilcox. The boiler room floor is 14 ft. above grade, this arrangementgiving a sub-cellar, which is utilized in part for ash tracks, the I026 STREET RAILWAY JOURNAL. [Vol. XXV. The arrangement is such that each pair of oppositeboilers constitutes a boiler unit. Each battery is providedwith an engine-driven blower for forced draft. The was furnished by B. F. Sturtevant Company. Theeight Aultman & Taylor boilers are equipped with Jonesunder-feed stokers. Under normal conditions the turl)inesare operated with superheated steam, all of the boilersheing fitted with internal superheaters, the Aultman &Taylor batteries having Foster superheaters and the Bab-cock & Wilcox having superheaters of the Babcock & Wil-cox type.
