Mr. Blackford is still a residentof Kossuth county, and is numberedamong its most solid men. Among the arrivals of 1856 were: Taylor, John Heckart, OrangeMinkler, J. E. Stacy, H. A. Henderson,Frank Hamson, Roderick M. Bessie, McComb, H. F. Watson, Amos S. Col-lins, M. D., and others. The first log cabin was built by JudgeAsa C. Call, in the spring of 1855, asmentioned before.
