EXCLUSIVE - In recognition of his services in liberating Belgium, Field Marshal Sir Bernard Montgomery, Commander-in-Chief 21 Army Group was presented with an historic Belgian sword. It was the sword of the first Etat Major of the Belgian Army. On the Sheath were inscribed the words:- "AU LIBERATEUR DE BRUXELLES LE 3 SEPTEMBRE 1944, SES AMIS RECONNAISSANTS. OFFERT PAR COMTE DE RIBANCOURT, LES MEMBRES DE L'ASSOCIATION DE MALTE, ET LES MEMBRES DU CERCLE DU PARC BRUXELLES."
