Enter thou into theioy of the Lord. IN MEMORIAM. MR. J. N. McCOY. Promptly on his arrival in Evansvilleas paymaster of the L. & N. R. R., identified himself with the Wal-nut Street Presbyterian Church, wherehis exemplary life and genial disposi-tion was an inspiration to the youngpeople of the church in whom he was al-ways greatly interested. As teacher of a large class of youngmen in the Sunday School and as advisorto the Young Peoples Society of Chris-tian Endeavor, he came into close con-tact with the young people and by his whole-hearted in-terest in their social as well as spiritual life, won their con-fidence and regard and encouraged their hearty co-operationin the services and activities of the church. H. J. Pfafflin. 171. MR. ROBERT SMITH. Comparisons are invidious. Especial-ly in a session of such splendid men asthe pastor of Walnut Street churchcould claim to assist him in his work andyet none would begrudge the honor dueElder Robert Smith. His fidelity andefficiency as he represented the sessionand the church on many occasions inPresbytery was remarkable. I shall never forget the earnest andforceful address he made in behalf ofMinisterial Relief, impressing all whoheard him with his thorough knowledge and sympathy forthe men for whom he pleaded. His business life broughthim in touch with occasions and scenes of heart break andsorrow and here again his tenderness and large heartedsympathy served to make smooth the pathway of the af-flicted tha: they might lean on him as a friend and abrother.
