Le Clos d'Entre les Murs is a unique vineyard, conceived by Antoine Christal in 1894 near Saumur at the Val de Loire. France

Antoine Christal set up this unique vineyard in 1894 on a plot of land of The distinctive feature of Clos d'Entre les Murs lies in its structure: 4 m high perimeter walls and, inside, 11 parallel walls 2 m high and 60 cm thick, planted from east to west. The vines are planted on the north side of the walls. The vines are trained to grow through an opening in the wall 50 cm above the ground, on the south-facing side. Père Cristal's vineyard uses the North side to take advantage of the coolness and humidity of the soil, and the South side to benefit from the heat.
