Simplex. Most valuable by reason of its extreme late flowering, begin- ning in September and attaining full perfection about the middle of Octo- ber, a time when flowers are scarce. Its flowering stems are from 2-V to 3 feet high, terminated with a dense spike of white flowers, which, when cut, last in perfection a long time. (See cut.) 50 cts. each; $ per doz. Acerina or Japonica. A pretty Japanese variety, with white flowers; August and September; excellent for cutting; 2 J feet. Dahurlca. Large cylindrical spikes of creamy-white flowers in Septem- ber; 3 J feet. Racemosa. A handsome native species, bearing in July and August spikes of pure white flowers; well suited for planting at the back of the border or for naturalizing at the edge of the woods; 4 to 6 feet.
