The local trade report? excellent busi- ness for the month thus far. Among the notable decorations was one on June 7 by Eyres at the Ten Eyck. On the date named 68 officials of steam and electric railroads and of corporations in this section of the state gave a farewell batiquet to John N. Shannahan, who has resigned as general superintendent of the Fonda, Johnstown & Gloversville rail- road to accept the position of general manager of a road between Washing- ton, Baltimore and Annapolis. This was filled with ericas, palms, Pandanus Veitchi, dra- caenas, Adiantum Farlcyense and Ne- phrolepis Whitmani. The upper and lower ends of the rectangle of tropical foliage were relieved by small clusters of peonies, the seasonable flower. In the center of this entire display a fountain was installed for the evening and added much to the attractiveness of the oc- casion. The guests sat at a table whicli was built around the tropical bed. The table decorations consisted of American Beauty roses in large vases and Adian- tum Farleyense. Ea^h guest received a buttonhole bouquet of sweet peas. On the same date as the foregoing F. A. Danker had a notable decoration in the cathedral of the Immaculate Con- ception the occasion being the Feast of the Sacred Heart. The altar decora- tions were elaborate and beautiful on this day. J. R. Fotheringham of the F. R. Pier- son Co., Tarrytown, N. Y., was a recent guest of Mr. Danker. He made mention of the fact that the Pierson Co. is build- ing a new house 54 by .300 feet and is making preparations to buil
