. NYEMPS MDOGO. big island on Lake Baringo, whilst others wandered north to Mounts Nyiro and Marsabit. The islanders soon lost the little cattle they had been able to save, and now have to depend entirely on hunting and fishing. In the latter they appear to be very successful, for they exchange the spoil of the lake for dhurra, with their comrades of the mainland. We saw no boats, and I fancy the islanders wade backwards and forwards, but as none of them appeared during our visit, I cannot speak positively.
