ITALY : EIGHTH ARMYINDIAN TROOPS - Light AA gun mounted on an escarpment, which falls down to the River Trigno. At the moment this is our front line on this sector - we have positions on the escarpment this side, the enemy similarly on the other. The banks are within machine gun range of each other, so patrolling is possible only at night. At the time this shot was taken, this Bofors gun was following an unidentified plane, but visibility was bad owing to cloud in the valley, and no shoot developed.
