Cardiac conduction system, illustration. The electrical activity generated by the sinoatrial node activates the atrial muscle through the atrial conduction pathway and generates the P wave of an ECG (electrocardiogram). Next, the ventricular muscle is excited through the intraventricular conduction system to produce the QRS wave of an ECG. The left bundle branch can be further divided into left anterior fascicle and left posterior fascicle.
