PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 13, 2018) Sailors assigned to San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and Marines assigned to the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) conduct stretcher bearer training on the flight deck during a regularly scheduled deployment of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and 13th MEU. The Essex ARG/MEU team is a strong and flexible force equipped and scalable to respond to any crisis ranging from humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to contingency operations.
