MIXING, MOULDING, STORING Mixing and moulding. The concrete of Series I and II wasmachine mixed. The proportions having been determined forthe various concretes, the materials were carefully weighed outand placed in the Smith four cubic foot mixer, the interiorof which had been previously wet. Water was then added andthe mixer allowed to run for five minutes at r. p. m., afterwhich the concrete was dumped into a wheel barrow and thenplaced in the moulds. In Series I, the concrete for each per-centage of cement for the tension, bond, permeability, and abra-sion tests was made on the .same day, the mixing being done intwo batches, and part of the specimens for each kind of testbeing made from one batch and part
