The monument of a Red Army soldier smeared with red paint is seen after its dismantle. The monument of a Red Army soldier in Siedlec, commemorating Russian (former Soviet) soldiers killed in combat against the Germans in 1945 in the Wolsztyn area, has been dismantled and removed from its plinth. This is another stage of de-communisation announced by the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN). On April 20th, a total of three Red Army monuments have disappeared from public space, including two in Wielkopolska (Greater Poland Voivodeship): in Siedlec and Mi?dzyb?ocie.
