A Victorian (1823) legal document from the Consistory Court of York, England approving the taking down of two old western galleries of pews at Whitby, Yorkshire, Parish Church ; and the erection of a new gallery and the allotment of new pews to the owners of those removed, namely Jane Wood & William Cavallier. Signed in the presence of John White and approved and witnessed by George Stonehouse, George Lawson, William Elgie and Robert Harrison (signatures attached) Reverend James Andrew, perpetual curate of the Parish church is mentioned at the foot of the document.
