By any person who has a permit to do so granted bythe (.Commissioner or any officer or person duly authorized byhim, permitting such person to take or kill, for scientific pur-poses, or to take with a view to domestication, any number, notexceeding four of each of the said beasts or birds, or to takeeggs not exceeding twelve of each of any of the said birds or ofany other species of wild fowl. Every such permit shall set forth in detail the name,address or calling of the person to whom it is granted, the. o c o u c so ;:> GENERAL INFORMATION 121 object for wlucli it is granted, the luunber of each species oreggs which it is intended such person may kill or take, and theperiod of time during Mhich the permit is to be in force. It shall be unlawful for any person to use poison orpoisonous substances for the purpose of taking or killing anybirds or beasts of any kind, whatsoever, and the fact that anyperson places any poison or poisonous substances in such aposition that it may be reached or taken by any binl m- beastshall be proof that is was used for such purpose, and shall bedeemed an offence against the provisions of the game ordinance. Every person who has in his possession without lawfulexcuse during the closed season any beast, bird or eggs, killedor taken during such close season, shall be liable on summaryconviction to a penalty not exceeding $500, and in default ofpayment to imprisonment for a period not exceeding threemonths
