Firefighters interact with National Crisis Response Canines. Certified National Crisis Response Canines are specially trained in psychological first aid and to work effectively in crisis environments with people experiencing intense emotions in the aftermath of a critical incident. These dogs aid firefighters in coping with stress of fighting wildfires. The McHugh Fire located in Chugach State Park near Anchorage, AK began on Jul. 16, 2016 and the cause is under investigation.
