If Leggs disease occurs in otherjoints than the hip, it has not yet beenrecognized as such. A number of conditions may beresponsible for the disease, but it isgenerally conceded that sixty-five toseventy per cent of the cases follow aninjury. It occurs between the ages of fiveand ten, with an extreme range of twoand one-half to twelve. The course, symptoms, radiogramsand end results are characteristic ofthis affection. The treatment is simple and theprognosis good. The disease is self limited and tendstoward spontaneous cure.
