Wylfa Nuclear Power Station looking north east from the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path near Cemlyn Bay. Designed by Farmer & Dark, work started 1962, operational by 1971. Twin Magnox reactors, total capacity of 1,000,000kw, around 23 million kilowatt hours of electricity, 55 million gallons of seawater an hour used for cooling. Now undergoing decommissioning, reactor 2 was retired in 2012 and reactor 1 will operate until December 2015. A proposed replacement, Wylfa B, is subject to much local opposition.
