Camp in Northern Labrador Wilds from which Coast Guard Rescued 11. With rescue operations under way, Royal Canadian Air Force fliers break down the camp at which they waited 12 days for ultimate rescue by a Coast Guard helicopter. The 11 Canadians were stranded in the desolate forest waste after one plane had made a crash landing and a ski-equipped rescue plane had cracked up in a takeoff. Supplies were dropped to keep the men alive. While a Coast Guard helicopter was flown from New York City to Goose Bay, Labrador, and thence into the wilds to effect the rescues one by one.
